PAUSE AND SEE: A Celebration of Circular Fashion at Pitti Immagine

ree

June 2025, Florence, Italy — In the vibrant atmosphere of Pitti Immagine, the heart of Italian fashion meets the soul of sustainability.

"PAUSE AND SEE" is more than an exhibition - it's a conscious statement. "PAUSE AND SEE" invites visitors to slow down, observe, and choose mindfully. In a world of fast fashion, this is a call to embrace the value of making with care - where design meets responsibility, and where every creation tells a story worth wearing.

Hosted in the intimate and inspiring setting of Atallier, the event brought together three independent brands - ARNO Eyewear, Mokali Millinery, and fashion designer Eva Di Franco - for a unique exploration of circular economy, sustainable fashion, and the transformative power of upcycling. Eva Di Franco showed the CORREDO collection, exemplifying the beauty of fashion with purpose. Created from discarded towels and tablecloths once used in the hospitality industry, each garment is a one-of-a-kind piece shaped by the material itself. United by a single, striking rule - the color white - these pieces reflect a timeless elegance rooted in minimal waste and maximum creativity. CORREDO is part of the long-running WHITES project, a decade-long journey into sustainable craftsmanship. The tactile richness of old fabrics finds new life through contemporary design, embracing imperfections and transforming them into strength.

Alongside CORREDO, Di Franco presents the DÉJÀ-VU collection: a striking example of "double upcycling" where unsold items from past collections are reworked into entirely new designs. In this process, nothing is wasted - everything is reborn.

Eva Di Franco’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the studio. She is currently part of the work team of OMA (Osservatorio Mestieri d'Arte) within the Erasmus+ Fashion-up project, fostering a new generation of creatives engaged in sustainable artisanal fashion practices across Europe. Thanks to her expertise, Eva Di Franco contributed to develop the original training program on fashion upcycling, representing the core output of the project.
